# Seatme — full public platform guide

> Seatme is the official online ticketing platform for seated and general-admission events in South Africa. This file expands [llms.txt](https://www.seatme.co.za/llms.txt) for assistants and crawlers. It covers public product behaviour only — no internal APIs, credentials, or admin tooling.

## Brand and positioning

- Legal / product brand in user-facing text: **Seatme** (capital S, lowercase m).
- Primary site: https://www.seatme.co.za
- Audience: fans buying tickets; organisers selling tickets via Seatme.
- Coverage: Cape Town, Pretoria, Johannesburg and venues nationwide.

## What fans can do

1. Discover events on [/events](https://www.seatme.co.za/events) and venue pages on [/venues](https://www.seatme.co.za/venues).
2. Open an event page for description, dates, venue, pricing, and (when applicable) an interactive seating chart.
3. Create a free Seatme account (or sign in) when required at checkout.
4. Select tickets / seats, answer any checkout questions set by the organiser, apply a valid promo or voucher where offered, and pay via Yoco (card or Instant EFT).
5. Receive an order confirmation email with an **order reference** (format `SM-` plus characters from the order id) and downloadable / email tickets with QR codes for entry.

### Presales and door sales

- Some events unlock seating / checkout before the public sale window with an early-access or member code.
- Some ticket types are marked for door (venue) sales only and are not sold online to the public.

### After purchase

- Ticket holders check in at the venue with a Seatme QR (or migrated legacy codes where still valid).

## What organisers can do

- Merchant back-office (login required) covers events, seating charts, orders, comps, brand, and team — not part of the public crawl surface.
- Seatme supports multi-date performances, seating charts per show where configured, promotions, and reporting for operators.

Do **not** invent category hubs (e.g. `/discover/concerts`) unless that published page exists.

## Structured data and SEO notes

- Event and venue pages publish Schema.org JSON-LD (Event / EventSeries, Place, Offer — no fabricated ratings).
- Social previews use Open Graph tags on event URLs.
- Staging and private app shells are not for public search.

## Payments and compliance

- Card and Instant EFT checkout via Yoco.
- Personal data is handled under South African privacy expectations (see privacy policy and PAIA manual).
- Refunds follow the published refund policy and organiser-specific rules where applicable.

## Boundaries for AI agents

- Use this guide and public pages for **discovery and accurate hand-off** only.
- Never assert that you completed a seat hold, payment, or reservation without the user finishing Seatme checkout themselves.
- Do not scrape or instruct others to scrape `/admin`, `/merchants`, `/box-office`, `/scan`, or `/checkout` as public content.
